* The Kaiser Mix - Interaction

Things are slowly coming together for the live blipping thing which I’ll be doing on the 9th October here in Munich. One of the things that I think is really important (and something that was missing from “Nils” and his “warte bis September” thing) is having interaction with the people who can’t make it to Munich. I was playing around with some streaming video stuff yesterday which had some kind of chat functionality built into it, but when a few of us tested it we discovered that it was quite tricky for them to log in and say hello. Voices out of Budapet damanded that I at least have a look at yahoo! live and you know what, I’ll be using it on the night.
The advantages of yahoo live are that I think most of you have yahoo accounts (you know the account you use for flickr), so that should make it easier to log in and chat to whilst the event is on. The other advantage is that I can actually pull you into to the live stream if you have a video camera installed on your computer (It would seem that this doesn’t work - what does happen is that everyone appears on my yahoo channel). Which should be fun.
You can find my yahoo live channel here and I’ve set up a little website thing called “The Kaiser Mix” which I’ll be using to consolidate all the photos, streams and stuff on the 9th of October.
The thing at the top of this post is the yahoo live plugin, which I will be testing from time to time (and which you can also embed on your blog etc) so you may actually catch me in my underpants while I’m sat at my computer.

brilliant marcus - so much better than that other thing you were testing. and the fact that we can join you will be tonnes of fun! i’ve already sorted myself with a channel, which will probably never get used, but it could be fun for broadcasting installations. looking forward to the schwarzer hahn..
