* Should the Kaiser come back? Vote.

Posted on August 19th, 2008 by The Shop Keeper. Filed under The Kaiser.

I officially resigned from web 2.0 on my birthday and that is nearly three months ago. I miss it. I didn’t at the beginning but I’m missing it now so I’d thought I’d come back.

But should I? Do you want me to come back? Are you fed up of my mustache?

I don’t know the answers to any of those questions so I’d thought I’d put it to the vote.

VOTING IS NOW CLOSED

Should you, dear readers, decide that, no, it wouldn’t be a good idea for me (and the crew) to come back again I will down tools and you’ll never hear a peep out of The Kaiser (Marcus, Sacrum et. al) ever again. Simple as that.

UPDATE: Apparently the consequences of the result are not clear (see comments).

  • A vote for “no” means the end of basically everything; The Kaiser, Marcus Brown, Sacrum etc. and all that comes with them (be always opening, twitter, comments, blip, youtube, slideshare - everything) - a web wide ban, if you wish.
  • A vote for “yes” is a proper return, a merger of Be Always Opening with The Kaiser Edition and all that that entails.

Hope that clears things up a little.

Voting closes Monday the 25th August at 9:01 C.E.T.

Wow, I was the first one voting for yes!

Please come back! And maybe I will even manage to write my first comment on this site that comes without a mistake.

  2. ramses101 Says:

    Definitely yes.

  3. The Kaiser Says:

    Are you really, really sure?

  4. lauren Says:

hang on - does this mean that if we vote no, that marcus over at bealwaysopening will stop posting there? and if we vote yes, does that mean there’ll be two blogs - with marcus as a guest blogger on this one, oder was? you know i’m about ganz kaiser, but enlighten me, bitte schön.

  5. The Kaiser Says:

A vote for no means the end of everything (all blogs, comments, twitter, blip - everything). A vote for yes means I’m properly back - with some changes and a merger of BAO with The Kaiser Edition.

  6. Michael Gross Says:

Well, you should change the post then.

  7. The Kaiser Says:

I have “amended” the post young Michael. Service orientated, that’s me.

  8. Seb Says:

I voted for “yes” but foremost because I want BAO and Marcus to stay. This should be an option, as well. But I’ll always tolerate that moustache lad if that means Marcus is staying. No offense, beard-boy.

A big “Yes”. The world would be a bit sadder and not quite as wise without the Kaiser. That would be the good Kaiser wouldn’t it?

  14. lauren Says:

yeah, i’m with seb on this one - i voted yes because i want marcus and BAO to stay. and if that means i get charles stab, sacrum et al as a bonus, then brilliant.

  15. lauren Says:

and, can i just say, that a web wide ban doesn’t actually work for you marcus, no matter how hard you try (which i’m quite pleased about really), so you should just cut that out of the equation from now on, ok?

  16. The Kaiser Says:

no. it will be a web wide ban should the vote be “no”.
