The Ultimate Beverage Bracket - The battle plan, timetable etc.

OK, so I’m slowly seeing the light at the end of the tunnel of the thing that I’m working on. So we can now turn our attention to more important matters; like working out which beverage is the ultimate beverage (if you have no idea what this is about then maybe you should read this post first).

The rules of The Ultimate Beverage Bracket are incredibly simple. A host of your favourite bloggers have chosen to champion their ultimate beverage and they can do this in any manner they choose:

  • A blog post (written)
  • A cartoon (ah, remember Colman’s “DUCK” episodes in the Ultimate Meat Bracket!)
  • A video
  • A presenation
  • erm… something else which they can put online - The Meat Bracket is a really good place to look for ideas.

Then they post it on their blog and go head-to-head with another beverage/blogger and argue why their beverage is better than the other - and the everybody votes. The winner goes into the next round and the losers lick their wounds and wish they had never gotten themselves involved.

And here is the time table for round 1 of the ultimate beverage bracket:

Hot Beverage (Round 1: Monday 3rd March - Sunday 9th March)

Beer, Wines & Spirits (Round 1: Monday 3rd March - Sunday 9th March)

Cold Beverage (Round 1: Monday 10th March - Sunday 16th March)

Cocktail/Long drink (Week 1: Monday 10th March - Sunday 16th March)

  • Gin & Tonic [Peate]
  • Sex on the beach
  • Harvey Wallbanger
  • Pina Colada [Charles]

As you can see we still need people for round 1 of Cold Beverage and Cocktail/Long Drink (I’m hoping that George Parker will Champion Sex on the beach), so if you’d like to get involved leave a comment and I’ll slot you in.

So, as of Monday 3rd the Beverage Bracket begins.

If you think that others might been interested in this would you be so kind as to Stumble it?

  1. this is gonna be fun to watch. i start uni next week, so this will be perfect distraction :)

  2. Hah! The plannerboy and his new client! ;-)

  3. Ask the guys from the American Copywriter Podcast if the’d like to join in.

  4. Oh. Good. I get Marcus again.

  5. Hey, you’re not really worried are you? I mean, you’ve got TEA!

  6. Yes but people do love the underdog. Russell mentioned how daft it is to ‘Mess with Marcus’. We’ll see. I certainly can’t try the Obi Wan Kenobi move that nearly worked for the Smiths.

  7. It’s MULLED WINE for heaven’s sake!

  8. Charlie Gower has said he will do White Russian, in the cocktail division if you’re open to it Macus?

  9. Ahhh yes…hot chocolate vs. coffee is hard though :( I’m with NP on this one though, tea can’t be beaten! The other fights look interesting though, that gin tonic vs. sex on the beach especially!

  10. Sam

I’m gonna go with Mountain Dew in the cold beverage section cause it rocks

  11. I’m sure Vodka was on an earlier list? I’ll have it if its available still.

If you give Gower “the Caucasian” some poor bastard is gonna have to compete with The Dude from The Big Lebowski for sure. Not easy.

  12. it’s tricky having alcohol vs non-alcohol. two separate divisions woulda been perfect.

I mean, Tea. Tea is my blood.

But a good Caucasian, well you can’t beat that! That’s a helluva Caucasian Jackie.
