The Kaiser Edition

The Kaiser Edition

Adscene: One night with Faris.

Ok, it won’t be an entire night, in fact it will be a bit of an early evening towards the back end of this week (Thursday - confirmed!) but the next Adscene: The Kaiser Report interview should please all the planner boys and girls out there. It’s with Faris Yakob.

I asked George Parker who he would like me to talk to next and he begged me to talk to Faris Yakob (if you’ve not listened to the interview - and I’ve heard rumours that Sir Martin has heard it George - you can find it here.)

For the German lot, who may not know Faris, he’s responsible for a rather splendid blog called “talent imitates - genius steals” (which made it to the top ten blog list ranking thingy on campaign) and works for Naked in London as some kind of strategic god. And he can juggle.

I asked him, and he said yes. That’s just the way he is.

So, as we did with George, if you have any questions about advertising, planning, blogging, brands, nakedness, the plannersphere or juggling pop them into the comments section and I will surely ask.

Away you go.

If you think that others might been interested in this would you be so kind as to Stumble it?

  1. Hi there, two questions:

    1. I’m a young student. When I was even younger, I started to think that it would be a good idea to become a planner boy in the advertising industry. Then I discovered the Kaiser Edition. I began to worry. How worried are you about the situation of an industry that might be killed soon?

    2. The British planning culture is different to the German or American (Yes, British planning might be much better). What is it, that makes it better? And how would you describe your own approach as a Planner?

    Cheers

  2. Good stuff Michael. Good to see you’re worried. Excellent.

  3. Can you ask him why he uses so many long words?

  4. John - I’ll keep it short. Yes.

  5. Ask him what an insight is and how he find’s his.
Also ask him about his favourite TV Show and Colour.
And if there’s time ask him what he thinks Britney Spears should do to become popular again.
Last but not least ask him what he thinks about all this green marketing stuff. Is it important or is it a fad?

  6. I like the Britney question Tim. I like that a lot.

  7. I’m too late to ask any questions, other than to reiterate the one about Sacrum and the ants.

But I did listen to the George Parker thing last night. You were better than him, I thought.

I tell you one thing too - what’s his problem with MBAs ? I don’t think the two cross over much do they ? Why didn’t he have a go at racists or angry bees or something ?

  8. The Kaiser

I think most MBA’s in the states ARE angry bees Tomtcho.

  9. He uses so many long words because he likes long words.

Could you ask him though - what he thinks Google will do with the coveted C-block of the wireless spectrum in the US and how it will be integral to their business progression over the next 3-5 years?

Tell him his little bro said hi too ;)
