Like who…

Ok, I don’t normally do this kind of post, but I like Kris Hoet a lot, and he’s helped me out in more ways that he ever really needed to; so for once I’m joining in a meme - and he’s asked that I do it as me.

Yesterday Kris wrote this:

Every time I go through my RSS feeds there are a few bloggers that keep amazing me with what they do. Somehow they stand out (more) and they are good at something I wanted to be good/better at as well.

And he went on to say that he would like to be a little more like the following:

He then asked me, Gavin Heaton, Nir Ofir, Valeria Maltoni and Tamara Gielen if we would write about the bloggers that we admire etc.

So here we go. Here are mine:

  • Raymond. I absolutely adore this blog. Raymond doesn’t write very often (it’s actually Tom - please don’t tell anyone) but when he does it’s insane and brilliantly written.
This is my favourite blog - Raymond is my favourite blog of all time. Ever.
  • Charles Frith. I love Charles because, like myself, he’s a Southampton boy who’s, well, not living in the UK anymore - let alone Southampton. Which is plain and simply sensible. I love what he writes and how he writes it. I admire his bottle. Beijing for heaven sake!
  • Sheseesred. I admired Lauren before I’d met her. I’ve met her now, and admire her even more. She put all of the note takers to shame at Interesting 2007 in London. A very clever artist - with cool, old school tattoos. She stuck to the stuff I ran away from.
  • Fistfulayen. It took me ages to work out that Ian Rogers is VP something-or-other at yahoo music. I have to admit that I’ve only just recently discovered his blog but I’m hooked to his obvious love of music and his kids. Check out his oldest daughter’s radioshow. I’m just a sucker for dads who write about their daughters.

There are of course loads of other people (and you know who you are) but the four above are on my secret list - which is not so secret now.

So, if I have understood this meme thing correctly, the four people above are requested to do something similar and mention all the other people mentioned in this post. I think that’s how it works.

If you think that others might been interested in this would you be so kind as to Stumble it?

  1. opi!! aren’t you just a big-fat sweetheart!

  2. I have put on a little weight Lauren - giving up smoking and all.

  3. You should see the weight I’ve put on. The girl who took my photograph for the Kittygate post was pissing herself. I think its time to ditch the tight T Shirts.

  4. Jesus Christ.

I don’t know what to say - there’s a lump to push aside before I get there.

  5. Tomtcho - is the lump Charles’ lunch box?

  6. Thanks Marcus - just thanks, man. I’ve come over all red and unable to concentrate on my work.

  7. I’m finding it difficult to get La Vache qui Rit past my oesophagus.

  8. Try drinking a Stella.

  9. Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Does that feel better, Charles ?

  10. Paul H. Colman

I remember the days when I would have made this list.

    Good evening.

  11. The Kaiser

You stopped. Just stopped. Left me sitting here with nowhere to link to. What was I suppose to do Paul? Eh?

  12. Paul H. Colman

I suppose in those circumstances I do now understand why you had to link to Frith, though at first I did question it.

  13. Right… That’s it… No more fucking podcasts for you. And stop sending me text chat massages in the middle of the fucking night. It’s enough to drive me to drink. Well, that’s my excuse. Good bye forever.
    Cheers/George

  14. The Kaiser

Paul - glad we’ve sorted it out now. I’ll do a “life in the middle” special if you put the blooding thing back up.

George - For a very, very, very old man you really do behave like a child. Smack bottom for you if they ever let you back into Europe.

  15. Join the queue Marcus. I’m still waiting to give George the slipper after those naughty comments in his podcast about me.

We’ve got George never retiring and Coleman taking early retirement. They don’t make them like they used to.

  16. I’m also putting my tight T Shirt collection in the post to Coleman. I’m not implying anything.
